Privacy Policy

We collect only what we need to run your account and help you study.

• Account details: your first name, email address, time zone, and a password. We store only a scrambled (hashed) form of your password, never the password itself.
• Google sign-in: if you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID, email address and name. We ask Google only for basic profile and email access, never for your contacts, files or anything else in your Google account.
• Your goals: your goal score and SAT test date. During sign-up we ask for your birthday to confirm you are 13 or older; we use it for that check and do not store it.
• Study activity: your answers, how long you spend on each question, the practice sessions and tests you take, and the scores and skill estimates we calculate from them.
• Purchases: the plan you bought, its price, dates and status, and an ID for you at Stripe, our payment processor. Your card number goes straight to Stripe and never reaches our servers.
• Emails we send you: a record of which account emails we sent and whether they were delivered.
• Security data: sign-in sessions, and short-lived scrambled versions of your IP address and email address that we use to stop repeated sign-in attempts and other abuse. These are deleted automatically.

• To create and secure your account, and to sign you in.
• To build your study plan, choose your next questions, score your practice tests and show your progress.
• To process payments, and to send account emails such as email confirmation, password resets and a reminder before your free trial ends.
• To improve our questions and the service, for example by checking which questions are too hard, too easy or unclear across all students.
• To prevent fraud and abuse, and to meet legal obligations.

StudyPlanet shows no ads. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising. We don't use advertising or third-party analytics cookies.

These companies process data for us, only to provide their service to StudyPlanet:

• Vercel hosts the website.
• Neon hosts our database.
• Stripe processes payments.
• Resend delivers our emails.
• Google handles sign-in, if you choose Sign in with Google.
• Desmos provides the graphing calculator in practice tests. When the calculator loads, your browser connects to Desmos, which receives basic technical information such as your IP address.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our students or others.

We use only the cookies StudyPlanet needs to work: one that keeps you signed in, and short-lived ones that protect the sign-up and Sign in with Google steps. We don't use cookies for advertising or tracking.

We keep your account and study history while your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and its history within 30 days, except records we must keep by law, such as payment records. Sign-in sessions, email links and abuse-prevention data expire and are deleted automatically.

You can update your goal score and test date in Settings. To get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account and its history, email us at arnoldhnguyen34@gmail.com from the address on your account. We'll respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under privacy law, such as the right to know what we collect. We honor those requests too, and we won't treat you differently for making one.

StudyPlanet is for students 13 and older, and sign-up checks your age. If we learn that we collected personal information from someone under 13, we delete it. If you believe that has happened, email us at arnoldhnguyen34@gmail.com.

We encrypt connections to StudyPlanet, store passwords and sign-in tokens only in hashed form, and limit who can access our systems. No service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong password you don't use anywhere else.

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll email you before it takes effect.
